CanAm Bridges wins Quebec CISC Award for Sir Ambrose Shea Bridge, Placentia, Newfoundland and Labrador.
This bridge is 305 ft. (93 m) long and consists of three spans. The bridge’s superstructure is composed of 1,100 tonnes of steel components including 10 girders for approaches and four box girders and stringers for the lift span.
Featuring four hollow structural tubular towers that stand over 100 ft. (30.5m) tall and measure 20 in. (508 mm) wide by 1 in. (25.4 mm) thick, this bridge project is anything but standard.
